I've said it before and I will say it again: Ads like this one remind us how incredibly important MUSIC is in short-form video. It's the music, stupid.

That seems less like a commercial and more like someone's reel! There are some beautiful shots in there. The music is pretty meh though.

What is waterglass?

Go to a stained glass shop and ask them. They will show you. It is basically "wavy" rippled glass. There are all kinds. (takes me back to the music vid days!). Antique glass is another more subtle version.

check out the the ice cream ad (Magnum (sp?)) by the same director. equally impressive. the quad productions site has been down for awhile, though.

Thanks! I will definitely look into it. Right now I'm experimenting with wineglasses and stuff. It flares really nice on long lenses :clown2:

Are you feeling okay? You're looking a little green-ish... :whistling:

I'm totally OK - not green at all ;-). I've been in the fashion industry for over ten years, and this is the kind of fashion production I don't like (at all). So far beyound boooooring...

jnad, i'm just teasing you of course. know of anything else out there (i've already taken a look at your links) that you would consider amazing, exciting? i'm always wanting to see the really good stuff out there.

It's cool Jing. I'm a professional complainer... It's certainly good in it's own genre, but I dont fancy that genre!

It is simply STUNNINGLY beautiful. Its been a long time since I have seen something as beautiful as this. Maybe never, in my 17yrs as a DP. Sure its cinematic masturbation, but who ever said that masturbation was bad. I know I can watch this ad many times and not go blind, in fact it is an eye opener. Anyone who cant see that must surely like a converted Sigma lens ;-)
