I have logged this question with Tolis support but was wondering if anyone else has had the same situation using BRU PE?

When I load an older tape, the 'tape set' does not appear in the 'Restore' pages 'Archive' window. I can only see the last tape I archived.
How do I load a tape so I can see the tapes contents and restore them to disk? If I accidently deleted a 'tape set' can I get it back from the tape?
I'm new to LTO-5 and assumed that when you place a tape in the drive it should load so you can see the contents in BRU PE software.

My software can read the header of the tape but it won't show up in the restore page.

usually you have to run a catalogue job which searches and indexes the tape. that should restore what you deleted. then when you can see whats on the index you can restore the files

Thanks Bing, I got it sorted. The Tolis people gave me a download for piece of software called a 'Tape Import Tool'. This was free yet didn't come with the BRU PE software. So if I accidentally delete a tape set in the archive window I can now simply load the tape and import the archive directory back into BRU PE.

Geoff, is that a public link? I'd love to check it out.

Thx.

Kevin
