  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Does anyone have "boots on the ground" tips for shooting the Scarlet-W in dark live concert conditions - small stages in various locations, small house stage lights - where adding additional lighting will not be allowed? Obviously a faster lens helps. But will something in the f1.8/2 range be sufficient with the Standard OLPF? Or should I definitely have the LL OLPF? Or am I kidding myself and it would be best to run with a different camera with higher light sensitivity in this case?

Most stage work I wouldn't consider low light. Sure the room is dark but the stage is hard lit. A good example of this is shooting the moon at night, it is dark around it but the moon itself is as bright as daytime.
800 ISO at +- f2.8 should be enough in most cases.

I'm going to guess you'll be ok. If you're really worried, go Lowlight.

But Scarlet-W is looking considerably cleaner than Epic-Dragon and Scarlet-W, so my hunch says it def worth a long look.

Here's a VERY RECENT Scarlet-W sample shot 3200ISO on Standard OLPF at 1.4, by Luigi. Should give you a pretty good idea of the cam's lowlight potential!

Thanks for that sample and other info - I hadn't seen that yet. Looks very promising!
