Low Cost Accessories for Sale

I'm going to be posting many accessory items on eBay in the coming days. I'm doing an inventory reduction. Some of these items will be film only, and most of you will have no interest, but many other items will work with the RED ONE and are much less costly than the new or "current industry standard". A few of the items actually are new.

The first, which is a currently active auction ending Sunday September 28 at 21:30 PST, is for a Cinema Products J-4 Zoom Control System:

It's currently at $25.00 with one bid and no reserve. Even if you don't want to buy it, read the ad, for some education and a little fun (seeing how over-the-top my advertising for old film equipment is).

But everything I say in the ad is 100% true as always. And I hope my filmmaking idol, Mr. Kubrick, will not object. (He's probably too busy trying to beat God at chess).

BTW, I realized that this zoom control is well suited for use with the RED ONE since it does not need to be powered by the camera's 12v output (as Microforce does). And the fact that it does not have a camera start/stop trigger is inconsequential when used with the RED ONE.

But, eBay being the 800 pound gorilla it is, I can't edit my listing to add the above. So if anyone wants to ask me a question on my listing (click the "ask seller a question" link), I can answer it and add the above.

It looks like the J-4 system is going to go really cheap. Visual Products used to sell them for $700 and now they don't have any in stock. So anything under $700 is a deal. But it might go for a steal. So don't forget to bid Sunday night.

Van Diemen Bridgeplate/Baseplate

Van Diemen Bridgeplate/Baseplate

I have a brand new Van Diemen Bridgeplate for 35mm ARRI cameras, plus Dovetail Balance Plate and 15mm rods. This item is beautifully made, hard coat anodized natural gray (has a Titanium colored finish).

I could modify the VD baseplate to easily attach to the bottom of the RED Shoulder Dovetail and still clear the shoulder pad. Then you can use the ARRI style dovetail for infinitely adjustable balance instead of the RED dovetail with the round peg/hole system.
