Hello! My name is Dominick Pietrzak and I am a student filmmaker in NYC. I have ordered the Scarlet-X package along with some accessories.

I am looking to work with a Red DIT or DMT with a Scarlet or Epic for no pay. I have never shot on a Red camera but I learn very quickly. I think it would be a great opportunity for me to work for someone experienced in the field while learning certain aspects of the camera workflow. If you are just doing camera tests in your studio/shop I would also be interesting in coming in to help and have fun with the cameras.

I currently own a Sony EX1 which I have shot some projects with. I also used it with the Letus 35mm Adapter from time to time. I am pretty handy on a Mac and love learning new technology.

Thanks,
Dominick

P.S. - Not sure if this is the correct category to post this under, if it's not I hope one of the mods can move it :)

Very smart idea, Dominick. I hope someone takes you up on that!

You've never shot a RED but you purchased a Scarlet? That's pretty insane... Though you won't be disappointed! Good luck on your search

Ryan, when I placed my deposit on my first Red One back in September of 2007 it sure was a surreal and anxious time for me, in many ways I had no idea what I was getting myself into but honestly I have loved every step of the way. The community here was very small at the time and many of us circled our wagons to help one another use these cameras properly and to their fullest. It was a very special time... Even though I had dozen's of "Professionals" rain some very serious hate on me for buying/believing in RED and what it could do to the Industry and our images if one were to self educate and be open to the process. After 5 years and over 400 RED jobs at almost every budget level/genre, I hope I can be of assistance. I can't do this all the time due to work but I treasure the opportunity to help good people... :)

So, Dominick... PM your cell number to me and let's carve out and hour or so in the next few days and let's systematically discuss the whole process from prep, set to post. I am I.C.G 600 as well and may be able to pass your info on as well to a few contacts in NYC but I need to talk to you and understand your background to get the right fit. Would this be helpful Dominick?

I think there are a lot of new Red owners due to the Scarlet, so I can't be the only one who's never used one before. I'm very excited to get it and thank you!

Thanks Andrew! This is just what I was hoping for. I will PM you right now.

If you can get Benzo when he has time, you will be blessed. A fellow REDucation TA, and a jolly good fellow. One of my favorites in the biz!

Also, Dominick, I like your attitude. I've always had the philosophy that it's super important to surround yourself with the best people and continue to make that a priority. I see that being even more profitable than knowing everything on your own to begin with. Because in the end, if anyone did "know it all" they'd still need people.

Go get'em!

Thanks Joseph, I will try and find him! Also, I'm planning on going to the RedUcation in NYC, but I don't think it's open for reservations yet.

I've been following your Epic-M Owner thread, browsing every now and then. Congratulations on your job and move to Dubai! I've been planning on going to Dubai for a while now, so maybe this summer I'll go. If I do, I'll let you know and maybe we can meet up.

Thanks for the kind words, and best of luck to you in Dubai!

Dominick

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy the stuff on my thread. I've been extremely blessed with the people around me.

We should definitely meet up if you do end up visiting Dubai...

Wait a second, according to my research, Benzo is Andrew Benz. Haha. I sent him an email a while ago but I guess he's been busy.

Will let you know when I'm in Dubai!
