The native aspect ratio and resolution that is closest to what I want is 4K 2:1. I'm obviously going to have to cut a small strip off the top and bottom of the 2:1 picture to get 2.35:1. I was just wondering, can the LCD be set to where it can show where a 2.35:1 frame is against the native 2:1? If not, I would hate to shoot 2:1, and then attempting to "widen" it to 2.35:1, only to realize I have a part of the 2:1 image that I can't afford to take out when turning it to 2.35:1. Does anyone have any advice on attempting to shoot a film with a 2.35:1 intended aspect ratio for the final product?

2:1 Crop to 2.35:1 Aspect is the easy part.

We usually taped up a production monitor on set.

If you are going to dvd and broadcast please remember to set your safe zone and police it well.

You save a lot on time and money not having to pan and scan.

Now you need to find the other 99.9% of this film making equation.

LOL

Congrat if you have funding.
