  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

looking to rent epic 3d

Hi there Mr. Obertone,

We are the manufacturers of the Atom rig which is designed for the EPICs:
http://www.technica3d.com/3D-rigs/Atom.php

Although we do sales only we do have rental houses that have our gear. On the feature side I would look to Panavision which has several of our Pulsar rigs but will also be taking delivery of the Atoms. There are several other rental houses that have the gear you need but they are a great starting point.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or if you need a contact for Panavision or other rental houses with our gear.

Joey

The real question will be of timing and availability of the EPICs. EPICs are not really available right now, very limited. They should start rolling off the assembly line soon though. Rates are going to be hard to come by until people can get cameras.

I am Epic #27 which Jim posted should be shipping at end of February. My Epic will be available for rental.

Looking for information and rates on a RED Epic 3D handheld rig with stereographer. 40 day feature shoot this spring.

We have several Epic-X kits coming, (very possibly to include few Epic-M Kits) with 3 of the Element Technica Atom 3D rigs, fully loaded!
So we are pretty sure that we could accommodate your needs if any of them is available for your shoot,
and we come to terms.

Just shoot me an email ketchrossi (@) ketchrossistudios.com

We are in line Stage 2 with #245 and #246 for two Epic-X kits. Also see hdcinema.com/3D.html for rental of Panasonic and Marshall 3D monitors, Davio, Stereobrain, and AJA Hi5-3D stereo processors, nanoFlash3D recorder.

Epic 44 and Epic 88 are teaming up in Europe as well to offer an Epic 3D configuration very early in the production cycle.

Feel free to get in touch with locared for that matter (link in signature)

Hi Arnaud, remember the 3D test in Paris a couple of years ago and the France Disneyland reel you showed? You must be an expert in 3D now. Arnuad is one of the pioneers in shooting 3D with Reds. Hope to catch up with again. Lim

Thanks Lim, hope you're well and happily shooting,

Yep we've done many other projects since then, recently we completed a very interesting project that included 3D aerial filming of Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris! We also post-produced a project for the Vatican on St Pietro Cathedral also shot on Red in 3D.

Soon some footage and excerpts to share with you all. Just clearing rights first as usual.

Can't wait to put the Epic 3D configuration to the task ;)

Who said 3D was dead again? Funny people at Fox!

Pricing

Pricing

$95,000/month?

Wow, that would be amazing ;-)

FWIW book rate for the Quasar at several major suppliers is $3000/day on a 3 day/week (includes motors, elec, hand unit for IO+C)

This works out to $36,000/month before any discounting.

If anyone is charging $95K/month it is for a complete ready to shoot package including cameras, lens sets, stereo lens controller, sync electronics, cables, interfaces, etc.

Wow... This is semi criminal. I read in another post from Joey at Element... he recommended Panavision for the rental of 3D rigs. I'm totally understanding his suggestion.
