Looking for a place to purchase the video version of the EF mount Samyang 35 1.4? I can't seem to locate one that specifies the video version, could someone assist me? Do they all have fluid apertures?

Haven't heard of it. The 8mm is out since a few weeks, and that was the first.

I have the Samyang 35mm f1.4 (obviously the non-video version) and I'm planning to cautiously remove the aperture clicker myself. I've done this on other lenses and if you like I can let you know how easy it is?

There's a video version of these Samyang lenses? Canon? Rokinon? (Inquiring minds want to know.)

You should read this article about the Samyang, Bower, Rokinon lenses:

Quote from the article:

"Is There A Difference Between Vendor Brands Besides Price?

YES ! besides price, there is one main difference. Its which direction the lens focuses in. If you shoot Nikon with its backwards ( to everyone else ) focus turn, then you'll be ok with the Samyang OEM branded version of this lens. If you shoot Canon, cine glass and most other brands, then you'll want the Rokinon version because it focuses in the normal direction. Bower may focus either way depending on the lot it seems and Vivitar focuses backwards."

That's why I bought the Rokinon versions.

This sounds a bit weird as in: sometimes they are backwards sometimes not. doesn't really seem to make sense?!
he also writes about a declicked version? never seen or heard of any except for the 8mm vdslr version and the standard mods. any insight!?

the rotation direction depends on the mount type. I have the 14,35,85 in canon mount (rokinon) and they are cinedirection. My 24 rokinon is nikon mount and it rotates "backwards".

That sounds more reasonable! Anything else doesn't really make sense, but who knows.

There are video versions (declicked) on ebay. Here's one:

It's a little more than the standard version. Just search for "Samyang" and "Video". Personally, I'm just going to have all of my Rokinons declicked and not take a chance with focus direction.

Phillip, thank you for the link and info! Good to know, they offer that. I'll check if there are Walimex versions of this one too...
I'm really curious if they will continue with the geared video versions like what they did to the 8mm.
