I shot some early build footage with MacGregor out on the Salt Flats. He was the DP and owns then footy so you should contact him directly. We got some nice stuff and it was one of the first times I really saw IR pollution in some black fabrics.

googled and came up with not much.....pics of that location?

what is better about a dry lake vs salt flat? I am going for the Salt flat WHITE look..

need car action like the Hyundai spot listed in top of thread...is dry lake vs slat better for sliding and dust cloud?

It was 90% RED (looked great), some EX1, my wife's HV20 as a lipstick camera for inside the car when it was going 225 and a few film shots. The footage from the other cameras was really noisy which I think is what inspired them to add noise and grain to everything else. The RED footage was properly exposed and looked great, it was "toyed" with in post.

looking at your VImeo, it seems you have lots of little things. are they all tests?

I need more examples with this look and feel for reference material..don't care if it's old or new RED or film.....

Rent the feature film "Worlds Fastest Indian". (like the motorcycle) Nice film, great look with some inventive shots filmed at Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats.
