  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

We are planning to make a bollywood films(Indian Film ) in U.S.
we require a red one camera with complete production kit like lenses , etc. with Director of Photography for a shoot of around 18- 20 days
its a low budget film . We can offer around 200- 250$ per day.
CAst is from U.S.

so if you are intrested in an international film then send me your resumes
shoot will take place in first month of May.
WE are Also looking for following people.
1 Camera assistants
2 Editors (Any format (AVID, PREMIERE PRO, FINAL CUT), advantageous if you have own equipment
3 Lighting guru’s & assistants / Gaffers
4. Storyboard artists
5. Runners / Production Assistants
6. Art Director
7 Make Up Artist
8 Sound Designer/Editor
9 Sound Mixer
10. CG and Visual FX
11. Assistant director.

Pay is deferred if you have equipment we will pay for use of equipment, this is a low budget Film. I do provide food. Lodging and travel will be provided for those who live out of town.

I'm not sure I understand this? You'll pay $200-250/day but the pay is deferred? When do you then actually get paid?

And lodging for out of which town?

What he's saying is they don't even plan to pay $200 - $250 per day. They will pay for use of your equipment out of that rate (perhaps $125 per day) but the rest you get ONLY if the picture makes money.

This just gets better and better doesn't it?

i've never quite understood the pay rates for deferred from most producers ...
shouldn't a defered rate be at least the DP's/crew current rate or more .....
looking at it from RISK vs. REWARD it seems like deferred should be 2-3X the normal rate ... RISK = 95+% of these types project NEVER see a dime ... so if one has a 95% chance of receiving nothing then the reward should be greater then their normal rate ...

so if one is going to offer/pay me nothing .. then i want ALLOT of nothing ...

based on experience = the longer the contract a producer put's in front of you the more likely you'll never see a dime ... the only times that i've been paid on deferred were on hand shake agreements ....
 
Fred and Sharon have 'single Christian name' international recognition like Madonna, Prince and Elvis. Megastars of their calibre would never work for less than $400 a day.To associate them with a $250 day Bollywood film would be scandalous.

It has been 16 years since I worked on my first "deferred payment" film. Can anyone guess who much money I have received?


One of the best bits of advice I received when I was starting out was 'Deferred means Free". I had no idea what they were talking about at the time but I sure do now!

Did someone confuse RedUser with Craigslist?
 
calm down guys this guy has a total budget of us dollars : $2300 for his feature... But in rupees its like 1.5 mill.... :)

Just enough for a 1/4 day shoot with a small crew LOL
