  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Looking for RED owner and operator in Florida

We would like to test RED camera before we buy it.
I need to see it, get hands on experience and shoot few short clips (nature) and process them in your editing system so we can take RAW and 1080p uncompressed footage back home.
I think one day will be enough for me to get the basic experience and training.

Please let me know what would be your rate per one day.

I have a few customers that own RED ONEs here in South Florida. If you do not have insurance, do not expect them to let you just take the camera. It will take a few hours to get up to speed on the camera. You will need to read the manual before arriving.

PM me if you are interested. I would be happy to send some business to my customers.
 
He's Ok with the owner going out with him Jorge. Radim started this search in the midwest and now it would seem he's moved it to florida.

From what I can tell, he's looking for someone to spend a day with him and is looking for a pretty low deal. I quoted him $800 for camera package, my time, and Editing, but I needed to allow someone else interested in buying a RED to tag along.. From this post, it would seem he's looking for even a lower rate or he wants this rate and to go alone. I cannot do all this for $800.

I've decided not to pursue this any further. Perhaps you should see if anyone in Florida wants to work with him.

I do think he's in for a rather unpleasent surprise when it comes to getting his head around RED and post in a day...

Radim, why not save everyone some time and just post how much you want to pay for this class/rental/service? This would keep people from responding that don't want to work for the fee you state. I know it would have saved ME a lot of time. :)

Jay, thank you again the time you are spending with me and my project, even tough I might not choose you at the end.

I am still doing a research. I am not only shopping for a price, but also for location, experience, equipment (lens), possibility of a longer partnership, experience in nature photography, quality of work, etc..

Florida would be perfect location for us to shoot nature photography, but if it is out of price range I will have to settle for Midwest - Iowa.

On Monday I will be getting a quote from a person in Iowa, so I will know better what are my options.

Well I cannot argue with you about Florida.. But if that is your goal have you considered going to LA and visiting the RED store? It's very possible they may be willing to do what you wish for free since it means they get a camera sold. Many camera dealers encourage tests of the equipment. LA is not a bad place to shoot outdoor footage!!

Perhaps you should look into this?

L.A is a good place to shoot nature footage Jay? I guess if you define the concrete/humanhighway as 'nature'. That's the wierdest thing I've read in a while......

Ocean, waves, sunset, seagulls, Sea Lions, Mountains (Santa Ana)
The list goes on..

They said I can check out the RED camera in the RED store, but they would not allow me to take it out of the store.

Anyways, I've found someone in Iowa to do tests for/with me and I am set.
