I’m producing a project through a non-profit foundation that films in EVERY country in the world in the 24-hour period of October 10th, 2010. The project is called One Day on Earth and we have already recruited 1000 filmmakers from 140 countries. Ted graciously mentioned to post a note here on the forum and I’m really excited to present this project to REDuser.
Our goal is to create a platform for the global community to share in a creative process. We hope this leads to a greater understanding of the common threads that connect us and also the differences that make us all unique. There are also real issues being addressed and shared, which will hopefully raise awareness to things that don’t make headlines. We have presented directly to the Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information at the UN, and hope to use this project to document the Millennium Development Goals.
While it is open for anyone to participate, it would be our dream to work with as many RED cinematographers as possible.
Among other things, we have a very diverse social network of international filmmakers and an online platform to share work, ideas and communicate. *We are NOT looking to own any footage (since I know the question will come up). There are a lot more details to jump into-- if you are interested, please contact me and check out the site: www.onedayonearth.org

We’d be grateful to have the support of the RED community to share their perspective on 10/10/10.
You can email me directly with any questions:

Thanks!
