There are about 15 threads on the subject of scratch audio.
These are older.

Now with the new 2.0 fan, some reviewed button mics no longer work. EX: Olympus ME-51 (probably the ME-52 and ME-52W)

I'm looking for a very small mic (x2) for scratch audio to match waveforms for linking to master sound files recorder on my Zoom H6.
Self powered, very simple stuff here.

Any thoughts, reviews?

I'm a little concerned with the larger fan up front next the where the button mics would be.

Look at this dual front fan. Was that the old Epic Fan? Looks like it could pass quite a bit of airflow through those twin blades.

Are these the small "button" microphones that Red has alluded to as being available for the Epic and Scarlet to plug in the the balanced 3.5mm jacks on the front of the body here on Shawn Bannon's picture?:

Anybody get chance to check them out, or get a closer pic?

Confirmed: They work.

Olympus ME52W buttons work just fine.

You can also easily add an extension cable and mount the mic anywhere you like on the camera. Not only will this allow compatibility with the protruding v2.0 fan system, but you will get better overall quality of sound as the mic won't be next to the fan. Some Olympus Mics include the extension cable and clip.

I wonder if the "sound cancellation" feature makes this button mic better than the others but the point of the button mic
is to be small, only used to sync audio waveforms.

That ME52 is arguably the best $15 accessory you can buy for your camera (that or a canon handstrap for the side handle). The only reason not to have one plugged in all the time is if there is a better alternative plugged in (ref from sound guy, or shotty via a-box).
