I have over 100 dpx clips stored in separate folders and can't seem to find an easy way to import them into Premiere. So far I have browse to each file, then click on on the first file of each image sequence, then check mark the image sequence option, then click open in order to import the file. Seems tedious if you have to import many files. Is there a better way to do this? Intuition would say using the import folder option would work but it doesn't, I end up with thousands of individual dpx files. Why doesn't the import folder option recognize that they are sequences and not individual dpx files?

Do I open them by using the import folder option in After Effects? If so I tried and I still get the individual DPX files instead of an image sequence. I have each clip in separate sub-folders so maybe that's why it doesn't work? It does work if I use the same process that I mentioned above but I have to do them one at a time which puts me in the same position as before. Davinci has an option to "import this folder and all sub-folders" and it seems to recognize image sequences fine, so I know the technology exists. I wonder why they can't incorporate that into Premiere?

Another route is to open them in AE then import the comp in Premiere.

After Effects would be the best way. Select all the individual folders and drag and drop them to After Effects project panel. After Effect will import them as image sequences, not as separated images. Copy them all and paste to Premiere Pro project panel.
You're done..

Ok finally got it. Thank you Jarek, and thanks Kujtim for elaborating. The problem was that I was attempting to import the top-level folder by using the "import folder" option after double clicking in the project panel in After Effects. After Effects only recognizes image sequences if they are in their own folder as Kujtim mentioned above. I also discovered that dragging and dropping from After Effects to Premiere doesn't work, and if you right click the files in After Effects there is no option to "copy". The only way to copy and paste is to hit "ctrl c" and "ctrl v" on the key pad. I was also able to export a Premiere project from After Effects, and that worked, slower but worked.
