Looking for advice/input on blending to 1080i - thanks

What is the correct shooting configuration to match existing 16x9 1080i 29.97
footage from another camera?

Staying with the 8gb flash cards, I have my Red camera settings at 3K 16x9 23.98. Right/wrong?

If what you're trying to match is actual 1080i and not 1080/29.97PsF (i.e. a progressive image on an interlaced carrier) then you should be shooting 59.94P and interlacing afterwards. 3K/2K (4K will not support 59.94P) is your choice, obviously 3K is better but will require more processing time. You should definitely shoot 16:9.
