I don't know any longer what the Red One Nikon mount sold for, but the Optitek ProLock mount is the best one out there for the Red One. Very solid locking mechanism, and it has the ability to control the iris on Nikkor G lenses.

Shameless Plug Alert: I have one for sale here on Reduser. I don't know what you are looking to pay, but PM me an offer and we can talk.

The optitek is great if you want a positive lock style which will keep your lenses in place better than a standard Nikon mount. It also gives you control of G Lenses. If you are looking to stick primarily with Nikon lenses, get this. If you will need to use a variety of lenses such as PL, Nikon, C/Y, etc have a look at the All Star mounting system which uses a universal mount and you use adapters on your lenses or in the case of PL a PL adapter slips into the mount and you don't need adapters for each lens. It's the most versatile system if you think you will change between lens formats within a given shoot. But the Optitek is cheap way to get that PL style mount if you work exclusively with Nikon.

The original Nikon mounts for R1 were built and designed by Doug Underdahl (who's on Reduser) and they are certainly viable option as well but they do not have positive lock. They are based on the standard Nikon mounting system. Doug did have a version that controlled G lenses as well. All depends on what you need and what kind of lenses you'll be throwing on your camera.

The current Nikon mount for Red One that is sold by Red is the second generation, with stainless PL style locking ring. Very solid, with positive locking. (No longer based on standard Nikon mount which uses springs.)

I designed them and they are in the Red website.

The Optitek shown above is no longer made and also has the iris activator which is great when you want to use G series Nikon lenses that don't have an iris ring.

Doug, I don't see a Red One Nikon mount on Red's website. Is it still available? I didn't realize there was a positive lock version.

I didn't see it either, but I found it by a "site:red.com/store red one nikon" search. So it's kind of hidden.
