Looking for a MacBook Pro setup to download footage on set looking for suggestions

Hello all searched the forums and couldn't find any recent info or set up to make like easier.

I pi apologize in advance for the nub ?

I am anxiously awaiting my camera to get here

i have been searching for solutions to download / save footage while on set.

I am looking to utilize my MacBook Pro and not sure if a red rocket x will help if I am not editing. I am simply transferring footage from red mags to my g drive.

I do have the g drive thunderbolt reader.

looking for any help or setup / solutions

MacPro works fine. No RRX card needed. Especially for offloading.
