Looking for a Location Expert in the Middle East

Again, Rob, maybe you can re-read my posts. I am looking for a researcher who sits in an office and looks at photos of locations and helps me find locations. I am not looking for fixers. I don't know where this is coming from.

The subject matter will be similar to things you might find in "Baraka", for example. Nature, wildlife, architecture, rock formations, people, etc.

I'm sorry. Tom, clearly I don't understand what it is you want. You want someone who is a photo researcher ("Look, here is a great shot of a stone village in Tunisia..")? Or some one who can tell you how to get to the stone village in Tunisia? Aren't you better off looking at the books yourself? Or are you looking for a location scout who can tell you where to find a world-class shot of remote desert buildings or beduin camps or something? Your first post said you wanted a location manager or location researcher, two very different jobs. Having read your follow up notes, I have a feeling you don't really know what it is you need exactly yourself, but in any event, I hope you take some of the caveats that people are giving you here seriously.

Tom, I believe National Geographic is now on computer disk formats. Makes it a bit easier to scan through compared to the Baraka era research days.

You can see from posts here that it's a bit different than shooting Joshua Tree park !
I suggest mounting a mini Uzi on a 19mm rod next to the Red ;)

Primarily they will help you not get, killed, arrested, kidnapped or robbed. After this they will save you a ton of money, pay the right people to get you permits or not, find subjects and locations. This is the Middle East we are talking about. If you are on a professional shoot you need a local fixer to help you. No discussion. If you don't get one you are stupid. Simple.
I must protest against what is written above. Some countries in the middle east are not in a chaos like is described above. ISRAEL HAD 10 MILLION TOURIST on 2010 and I don't remember how many during 2011, Jordan is also a safe country, at least for now. Turkey is a great country with the best food and beautiful locations that Americans can only dream of. Morocco, if you consider it in the middle east, is also a safe country. Yes Egypt has been boiling lately and Syria is steaming but you can go to Saudi Arabia, or other countries Baharian etc. Even Lebanon is quite safe for now. Yes things can change in days but I have leaving in LA in the 1990's and on April 29th I had to escape from my apartment in the Miracle Mile area because of riots...
If anyone wants to shot in Israel, contact me. By the way we have a big IMAX movie starting in Old Jerusalem with 2 Sony F-65 next week.
