  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

any new news on the 18-85? I got a get me some glass!!...please!!
 
yes please. i kind of regret trading my 18-85 reservation for the 18-50. don't get me wrong though, i'm keeping the 18-50, i just want the 18-85 also.

does anyone know about how many reservations there are?

or howabout releasing the 85 prime before the rest of the set is ready...
 
i remember seeing posters with 18-85 reservation #'s in the mid 350's back when they were taking reservations & i think ( not sure) i saw something in the 500's ??? ...
Red 103 has #37 ...
 
I am 504 on the hit parade or 503?

Your res for the lens is still good even if you bought the 18-50 in replacement,
at least this is what I was told at NAB. Hopefully that won't change.

Mr. J said it would be a couple months from NAB so hopefully July, August?
tommorow would be good too!. I really need something longer.
 
I spoke to a Red sales rep the other day and he told me none of the new Pro line lenses will ship till 2009. That means no 18-85 or primes till then.
They aren't even taking reservations on the prime set anymore. I'm bummed too, :waaa:

I have a line on a 18-100 T3 Cooke $17K ish. A 25-250HP Angie $10K ish. or a Superspeed Mark 1 set that's been completely rebuilt and converted to PL with 80mm fronts an Delrin focus gears, I think $25K.

I was looking at the cooke 18-100. Visual products has one for 13k
just wondered if there was a better deal to be had.
 
Wouldn't it be nice if someone at Red could give us an idea on what's happening with the 18-85? I sure could use that glass right about now!! According to Big Jon's update thread, we were supposed to have some limited release by the end of summer 08. That was yesterday!
