Here is a deal somebody simply can't pass up:

I'm going to be traveling from late November 'til late December/ early January. Since I don't see the point of a perfectly wonderful camera sitting unused I'm putting it up for a long term (low price) rental.

I'm thinkin' $7000 for 4 weeks keeps me happy and would surely make someone else happy as well.

Think of it this way, you've ordered but who knows when it's actually landing and of course you want to see how this baby works before the acquisition arrives; now's your chance to get some work done and not look completely lost when you're on the first job with your own RED!

Just as tempting, you've got the perfect project lined up but can't find a camera package fitting your budget. If this doesn't fit then I'd suggest shooting HVX (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Hell, at this price it would be worth it for a production needing a backup body long-term. Hard to not justify insured filming capabilities at approx. $250 per day.

Check my sig for kit details. Anything you see there is included if you so desire for 4 X weeks for $7000 (plus shipping of course). Contact me to set up a time frame that works for you.

Proof of insurance required.

i know you think you are offering a great deal, but what you are basically offering is a body only-no glass (the lenses you offer are very limited) rental for $1,750 a week, which is nothing great. unless someone is actually doing a film that happens to fall on the dates you want, i can't see anyone paying $250 a day, every day, to have this camera sit in their home. i suggest you offer it to rental houses that do not have red cameras but have film lenses, and maybe they can sub-rent it for you, and you can make some money. otherwise, i don't see it working out any other way unless you get lucky and find someone that has a four week job the same days you are on vacation. just an opinion.

Of course a rental house would make a killing on this deal; the Arri FF4 rents for $100 alone in many markets. Along with that you'd then have a whole 'nother RED package to send out with whatever glass is in house.

I'm placing the ad here to see if (per chance) there are individuals with schedules in line with mine. If that's the case, bonus for them. I'm also referring to a broad (approx. 6 week) period of time. It's not as though I'm stating "Here's a camera from November 28 through December 28th, no deviations!" And to say this is an offer for body only is a little unfair since all the standard aks come along with some non standard items available as well. Everything is packed nicely into a set of Pelican cases by the way.

The rate is also negotiable; I am stating what I think is fair.

Lenny, you're absolutely right the glass is limited but then, if it weren't so, I think the price range would be lifting out of the reach of some. Many times I've dealt with people wanting a wide variety of glass. This situation is best remedied by going to a rental house with a sundry of choices. Out of curiosity, what piece of optical enjoyment do you think would make this package really cause some serious salivation.

i think some kind of a zoom would help, like a 18-100 or so. then you are covered.

the thing is, even a rental house does not rent every day their packages, and if they do a week is usually a 2 or 3 day week. people with smaller budgets rent on the weekends, and they pay one day for the whole weekend.

my suggestion was not to give it to a rental house for $7,000, but to find a rental house that will sub rent it from you while you are gone. or, maybe you do find someone that has a 4 week shoot the during the period you are gone, that would be ideal, and lucky.

Hi,

If you order a new camera today, you should have it in your hand bu the end of the month, so I don't think there would be any incentive to pay 7,000 for 4 weeks use.

FWIW the return you want on your Red is higher than the FF4 at $100 day.

Let's make this a real "pretty" deal

Let's make this a real "pretty" deal

This isn't an offer based solely on those who have ordered a camera already; that was just a scenario.

There has got to be a person on the fence out there who just needs the right amount of push to get them over the "fence" and onto the field in terms of project creation. This is just an incentive for them to move forward and complete their goal with a minimum of cost.

To sweeten the pot; I'll throw in an Angenieux 17-102mm or Cooke 18-100mm (your choice!) pl zoom to make a complete package. Lenny was right; without a nice piece of glass you can hardly call it a great deal.
