Here's a fun little spot we shot two weeks ago in LA on Epics... Quite like the naturalistic tone of this one....

Great art direction and camera work. The Samsung marketing team have been hitting some serious home runs lately. This looked like it must have been a fun shoot. Can you discuss if there were any conflicts with using RED over Alexa considering this is the first I've seen Red used in a Galaxy ad?

The director and I shoot predominately Epic, so I imagine if they liked our work enough to give us the ad, they trusted us to choose the camera platform of our choice. Actually, this was the first time an ad agency really let the director alone to do what he does, and it shows. This entire job was constructed in the director's head and nuanced right on set, editing it shot by shot as we went. That sort of intricate linking of shots just doesn't happen by happenstance and certainly not by committee!

On a side note, I won a different job away from Alexa due to the fact that their tablets had much more moire from the lower resolution sensor on the Alexa as compared to the Epic... I pulled that one out of my sleeve and won that battle that way... THEN when they were behind schedule and realized that with the Epic, we could punch in and reframe our mediums to closeups, they were kissing my feet that I pushed for Epic and saved their schedule!

Looking good! Loved the naturalism, yes. Those K35's I'm sure helped with that. Great job as always. Very cool. Very sweet, too.
