Perhaps. There are some movies that I think will never be great movies but become a crowd favourite (like a Van Damme movie) for entertaining (but not being great or clever).

I think Gods of Egypt falls in that category too. Not a great clever film, but an entertaining one if you don't expect it to be Star Wars good. It's like Sinbad or Flash Gordon or Clash of the Titans or the Last Starfighter. Kind of hokey and unreal but fun. I can see kids/teens liking Gods of Egypt. Fun with the knowledge that it's fake.

London has Fallen will never be realistic since it aims to be an over the top story from the start. At best, it might be Patriot Games to a lessor extent. Still, I wonder if kids see Gods of Egypt with all the imagination and wonder as we did with Flash Gordon or the Original Clash of the Titans...

Wil -- also at about 2:47 there's a big RED on a camera ... what were the sensor & core temperatures ?
Suspect they shot on Dragon -- Weapon may not have been ready.

temps at 0:07 44/50
and at 0:17 38/45
*** at 3:37 !! What a Lens !!
temp at 7:45 looks to be 45/64
and at 8:31 39/57

FWIW,
Serge

No Academy Awards, but fun film. Im all in for any production that keeps people employed. The turning wheels of commerce is good for us all. Some of the effects obviously, went for volume over quality, but again fun film.

I worked on this film, and yes no awards but I'm sure it will make a tidy profit like the last one!
