  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

For sale is a set of 50mm and 75mm Lomo Squarefront lenses. These are HAC lenses so they are in 2 parts. This listing is for a single anamorphic front and 2 spherical primes. The sphericals can be easly swapped out on these using a mount/locking mechanism similar to a PL mount. Once the spherical element has been locked in place with the anamorphic you are left with a single solid lens. These lenses have been recentlly collimated and are in near pristine condition. Take advantage of this opportunity to have a set of 50mm and 75mm in PL mount for what it would normally cost for a single BAC squarefront prime. Please see the following video, it is not mine but belongs to the company that did the collimation and pl conversion adding the FF. They do great work www.conversiontopl.com, it may be possible to contact them directly if you are wanting to get another anamorphic front.

Yes. It has a PL mount so you can get a PL to E mount adapter. If you do I would recommend getting one that is shimmable. These anamorphics and basically all anamorphics are essentially 2 lenses in one, a normal spherical and the anamorphic components.

With some the spherical and anamorphic are fixed at infinity and focus is controlled with something like a variable powered diopter or in the case of these lenses the two are mechanically linked together so both are focused in unison. These lenses have been collimated to PL specs and if the adapter you get is not up to spec then the focus of the spherical part will be altered while the anamorphic will not be and the lenses will no longer being in synch which will result it a softer image, the more it is off the worse it will get.

I have used and recommend the PL to E made by Ciecio7 on ebay, they are high quality, shimmable and reasonabally priced. Zeiss shims can be used with it. I have used square fronts on an A7s before and was able to use them in FF mode as long as I was cropping to 2.4. I only used a 50mm at that time but the 75mm should be fine to but cant guarentee that.
