Hi All,

I have an excellent set of square front 50 and 80 Lomo's in OCT 19 that I have been planning to have rebuilt for ages but have never got around to. They were serviced by Olex many years ago and have the typical characteristics of square fronts. They are heavy, far stiffer then modern lenses but yield a wonderful image. They have a little dust but are otherwise in excellent condition with no scratches, fungus, or heavy cleaning marks. The 50 has quite good mechanics for a square front with smooth focus and aperture. The 80 is a little stiffer and in more need of a servicing. These lenses are in excellent cosmetic shape and show few signs of use.

Given the condition, I'm looking for $16,995.00 USD OBO.

In 2008 when I bought my RED One I pieced together a set of round front anamorphics 35mm, 50mm and 75mm for a total of $4,000.00. The square fronts weren't even going for more than $500/ea. And that was a good set with PL mounts and collimating at Duclos. How times have changed.

Back in the late seventies as a teenager, my brother and I pooled our savings and bought a Jaguar e-type for $3,000.00. We'd already restored an Austin Mini and MGB and this was our biggest project yet. A pristine e-type back then cost $25,000.00. Today, a pristine e-type will set you back somewhere between $250,000.00 and $300,000.00. I too am astonished at the prices of Lomo's. I never imagined they would appreciate the way they have. But the market price is driven by supply and demand, and demand continues to be strong.
