Hey gurus,
Finally decided to take a chance on russian anamorphics. So far so good found a great peice 35nas lomo squarefront. Stupid question how do I connect the rear mount (PL) 35mm to the square front piece of a lomo anamorphic lents? serial 710023? I can't get the two to connect for the life of me? I can get it to fit however not sure how to tighten them? Let the flaming begin.

Thanks,

Post a pic of your Squarefront.

The 2 peice types are different in design to the single piece lenses. You need to mount the Squarefront on some rods (so it stays in place when focusing) - here's a video (showing a 50mm) that'll give you an idea - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ml0toDoTBQM

Congratulations! The square front 35mm Anamorphics are nicer than the round fronts!

Hey Guys,
Okay so due to the fact I purchased a two part unit they dont connect together without rods (smacks my forehead!) however its an easy fix apparently. On the flipside I just sent off to Bernie @ super16 in nyc and hes going to service. Upon recieveing the lens he said its in very good condition! I ran some initial test prior to sending it and its beautiful. He said the alignment was off so hes going to run a CLA. Im working on getting a 50 now debating on round front or square front. If anyone has some examples of some good rod support set ups for the 35mm nas units I would love to see it! Im going to have my machinest rig an adjustable rails to it. Overall I cant wait to get it back its going to kick ass on my dragon!

The NAS/two part to accompany the 35mm is interesting. It was sold originally as two lenses (50mm & 75mm) with one Squarefront attachment. This differs from the one piece BAS Squarefront 'kit' that's 35mm, 50mm and 80mm.

I've seen quite a few for sale over the years. So, if you're looking to get 50mm and 75mm, you'll need to track down another NAS 50/75 squarefront.

I know Olex (and others) can convert these to single lenses, but they're a little heavier and more clunky in operation (as the way the lenses mate is more like a slot - and you often find they're harder to drive with FIZ - sometimes having to resort to focus stick/levers).
