LOMO OKC 5-18-1 WIDEANGLE LENS 18mm, serial #880158
CINE LENS

got too many lenses !! have to let this one go
brand LOMO but allegedly made by EKRAN

Tested on GH2 and perfectly working. Cosmetic conditions are very good.
This lens is quite a rare one.
Superior to OCT 18 mount lenses as mechanically better.
Inspected with a torch, lens is awesome, no fungus, no haze, no separation, no nothing. You can see some light cleaning marks but it's normal for a 20 years old cine lens!
Made in 1998.
F=18 printed on the optical block, but being this an experimental lens it goes all the way to f22 from f2.5.
Referring to the extremely info you get on this website, run by a LOMO expert
http://www.geocities.ws/kinor35/lenses/lenses-prime-wide/018-oks-5-18-1.htm
this lens could have been made by the highly regarded Ekran factory.

Follow focus ring (metal) included, focus is smooth.

Front and back caps included as well... not easy to get hold of through the regular channels

I have over 200 positive feedbacks on Ebay.

price: Eur 300 + shipping (quote on request)

Does it work on red with PL MOUNT?

Dan: The serial # starts 88, so it was made in 1988. Of course, that refers to the optical block, not the housing. The housing is not the standard LOMO housing. It looks like someone has taken one of the optical blocks that can be found on ebay any day of the week (i.e., not rare) and made a housing for it and put on an OCT19 mount. Now the OKC5-18-1 optical blocks go for $USD 250 plus shippng on Ebay, so $100 or $200 more for a block plus a housing is a very reasonable deal. That said, whether the housing is functional, accurate, and collimated/lubed correctly is a question mark.

There is no way this lens was made by Ekran. This (OKC5-18-1) is a standard speed run-of-the-mill Lomo 18mm lens. The Ekran 18mm is a superspeed. I have one and it looks nothing like this. And I have a half-dozen of the real Lomo OKC5-18-1 lenses and they also look nothing like this.

I appreciate that this lens might be a great find for the price, but would you trust the description of the lens' condition from a seller who joined reduser a few days ago, has one post, is offering a lens that is clearly missing a screw on the front, uses a housing that appears to be homemade with Home Depot screws and, who can't tell the difference between a focal length and an iris mark (F=18 is the focal length, 2.5 is the aperture mark).

I confirm this lens has been made in 1988, as the serial suggests.

Kingsley: honestly, I don't know that, Michael seems an expert here.. so you could ask him?

Michael: I wrote "could have been made by Ekran" so I mean I am not sure but I was taking into account what the Russian seller told me at the time of my purchase and what is written on the web link I posted. Fine if you confirm it's not, thanks for that by the way.
This seller (me) has over 10 years Ebay experience and 220 positive feedback and that is what counts if you're making a sale .. perhaps not so much how long you've been on Reduser for :-)

Housing made with Home Depot screws? nice one, glad you're so skilled. Regarding the screw missing I did not think it was going to be a big deal, to the point that a took a picture clearly showing it.

Regarding the F=18 thing, after 10 years spent making videos I can tell the difference (thanks God!).. just a typo, I meant that that the engraving on the metal focus ring (off the shelf from Home Depot as well) had a 3.5 mark on it but the lens can go all the way wide to 2.5 aperture.. as specified on the optical block.

Btw, not a native English mother tongue.. so Michael, please bear my spelling/grammar mistakes as well !!

The lens block may be marked for maximum f/ stop and the iris ring in T/ stops, hence the maximum opening shows different in two places, as is normal on Russian lenses, and for lenses that are marked in T/ stops, my Angenieux 6-80mm is f/1.2 but the iris ring says T/1.4 etc. as is the pattern for all our OCT-19 lenses other than the f/1.2 50mm which seems to be marked in f/ stops since the maximum opening is 1.2 on the iris ring hand engraved, we thought it might be the hard to find f/1.0 model and marked in T/ stops like all the other Russian lenses we have, there is no marking on the lens cell (block), its got big glass, but must be marked in f/ numbers not T/ numbers it seems, so that's the only example I have seen of a non- T/ stop marked iris ring on a Russian made OCT-19 mount lens so far...
