  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Log in problem

No.
It worked once when I changed my password but now it is back.
The stubberness.
It doesn't remember.
Well, I guess there are bigger problems to face in life.

Same here - changed password. Worked for a day. Now it doesn't remember me. Upgraded to Snow Leopard. Still doesn't work on Safari.

Oh well, over to Firefox then. :(

If you logged in to the forum using the http://www.reduser.net/ URL, then you will not stay logged in if you click on a http://reduser.net/ URL such as the ones sent by the thread subscription notifications to your email. Unfortunately, there's a nasty mix all over the Internet, with some links pointing to the www address, others to the non-www thing.

If I was the FORUM ADMIN for a day  I would do this to ensure consistency:

  1. I would setup the webserver to redirect you automatically - if you enter reduser.net it should throw you automatically to www.reduser.net.
  2. Then I would configure the email notifications sent to users (and every other automatically-generated URL) to contain URLs beginning with http://www.reduser.net/..... instead of the non-www currently.

Or the other way round. The important thing is, choose one, use redirects and be consistent. Most forums on the Internet are configured like that.

(Note: The redirection alone should be enough. #2 is for cosmetic reasons.)

If I'm not mistaken, the scarletuser forum has the same consistency problem, but today it was offline due to DNS issues. Guuuys, you're dropping the ball. :seeya:
