Hi everybody,
this is my first post. I'm editing a short shot with the red one and when I try to use log and transfer Final Cut quits. But when we've done a green screen test last month everything worked fine and I was also able to reconnect with crimson. It seems fcp can't handles more than a certain number of clips (current project is 120 clips). I'm editing on a mac book pro, 10.4.11, quicktime 7.4.5, final cut 6.0.3. I know it's better upgrade to leopard but redcine and redalert work just fine on my system. Now sometimes when I scroll the proxies (M) Fcp quits. I think the clips are too long and too much for my processor. Any suggestion?
Thanks,
Luca

It could an issue of RAM as you suggest. We had a Macbook pro running some conversions and we also encounter crashes using RedCine. Not the macbook pro but the software.

When we switched to a MacPro the problem went away and we were able to get those long R3D clips. We also updated to the latest version of RedAlert which seems to work fine on longer clips in the small Macbook Pro.
