just starting a big project where I need to transcode files into ProRes for offline edit. I am using Log and Transfer plugin, and find that the color presets from RedAlert don't translate properly. i created a ProRes QT file from rendering out of RedAlert and then did the same file, with the same look preset applied to it from within log and transfer, and the one generated from Log and Transfer is MUCH darker than the one from RedAlert. Is there a fix for this?

If not, what is the best way to re-sync sound to the ProRes files if I generate them from RedAlert, as they lose the sound that way? Ultimately, I need to end up with clips that have both the sound and video from the .r3d originals, AND they must have the preset look applied to them from RedAlert. What is the best way to achieve this?

i am using rec 709 in RedAlert as well. It seems more like L&T only uses linear light....which would totally suck.

any advice on how to re-link the audio to create self-contained ProRes QTs using the video from a RedAlert render, and the audio from (help) the proxies???

Log and Transfer tool wont install

Hi there, I'm getting an error at "Select a Destination" You cannot install RED FCP Plugin on this volume. Make sure your system meets the requirements.

Has anybody solved this?

I have already installed the following and rebooted:

# Final Cut Studio 2 REDCODE Plugin
# RED ALERT! (BETA)
# RED Log and Transfer Plugin (BETA)
# REDCINE (BETA)

But it still isn't working.

same for me. Anyone know where the system requirements are hidden?

Intel based Mac
RED quicktime codec (I think this is called FCP plugin on the Red support page)
Final Cut Pro 6.0.2 or later

We've had a couple folks mention that their system "meets the requirements"
but are still getting into this situation. Unfortunately, we have yet to actually
see those systems first hand so we can't validate the claims. I've put it on
various Macs here (MacBookPro, iMac, and MacPro running both Tiger and Leopard) and not seen issues.

No unspecified requirements, just FCP and REDCODE codec. Is it possible
it's a disc space problem or some such system level thing?
