Hey,

Just tried to log and transfer footage on native into final cut and getting the following result:

transfer.jpg

although the footage had the same problem with Redcine it looks fine in Redcine X.

Shot on a M sensor, with the latest build (not beta).

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
Krish.

Have you updated your QT codec to the latest version?

Johnny, thats what I thought as well. But dont think it installs as it should or I missed something.

A quick google search found this:

http://www.red.com/support/release_history/1

This sorted the problem.

Cheers,

Kalari,
are you saying that after you installed the QT codec v. 3.9 that this cured your problems? I recall that RED was up to v. 4.1 beta on the QT codec. BUT now i'm fairly certain that when you install RCX that it installs RED's latest QT codec. I'd assume this since they have taken off the QT codec software/install from their original support page as well. And from previous threads i was following i believe that it was mentioned that the QT codec would auto install with further (new) versions of RCX.

If you installed v. 3.9, you may be going backwards.....

Hmm.. strange. Maybe it did auto install. What would be the best way to find the version number?

It definitely solved the problem once I installed the codec from that link.

i just found something useful and checked my library....found i was running an OLD version of FCS. version 20....even though i installed v. 30.1

Anyway, as one RED team member points out, there apple does not do a good job of verifying that a certain file was installed. I actually manually deleted a "MOI" folder and reinstalled FCS3 installer which also has QT v. 4.2

I'll find that thread again and you can verify yours.

Follow this thread.

This is EXACTLY What happened to me.....i verfied AFTER installing FCS3 that the moi file did not update. So, i manually deleted it and reinstalled it...and verified again---and it finally did install.

Makes me wonder how many others are wandering around with old updates. Since you manually must verify AND how would you even know?

Did you finally get relief? Verified MIO file and deleted etc...? This has me a bit worried about any future updates/upgrades. If we install them and they do not verify and we are STILL using older version of QT component or other RED tabs in FCP.
If i recall, i have installed the FCS3 installer at least twice or possibly 3x on my system and after verifying today, it still has version 20 MIO file not version 30. Very worrisome.
