I've been asked to shoot in various cities, and I'd really like to take my LiteMats (S2L and S1) with me. However, the cases they come in are soft, and I absolutely wouldn't put them on a plane in that state.

Has anyone found a good, rock-solid case to store them in for transit?

Thanks!

I got no answer for you but I recently called them asking the same question and they recommended having a custom case made. Lack of travel cases was the only reason I ended up getting different lights. Great lights but they need to make a few different sizes that can fit into existing pelican cases. S1 may fit in a pelican 1600 or so and the 2L may fit in the pelican gun case but that's all I got.

A friend is using a gator case for the Litemat 4 and flying with it so I would guess they have something for the smaller units. Also, check out their new tile lights. They’re basically lite mats that fold up smaller.

I have seen the S2L fit into one of those pelican gun cases. I would imagine you could also fit a S1L. They actually had the S2L almost fully built in the case. Unfortunately I didn't write down the case number but you should be able to figure out which ones based on interior dimensions.

This is awesome to hear - thank you Solomon!

I'll take a photo later, but I got the Storm iM3220 case. I've read a lot that pelican case wheels aren't great, so I opted for this Storm version: http://www.pelican.com/us/en/pro/product/watertight-storm-hard-cases/large-case/long-case/iM3220/

I had to remove both my LiteMat 2L and LiteMat 1 from the bags, but they fit very well in this case and I have room for the accessories (pending a tubberware solution to keep the cables and mounts separate from the lights).

I may have been able to get away with the iM3200, but the extra 2.5" of padding in the 3220 is nice ;)

I actually have the perfect case for these lights! I bought it for a portable sound booth, which sounds bigger than it is. When I wanted to travel with the LiteMats, I repurposed it for them and they fit perfectly! Only problem is I can't remember where I found it online. Let me dig a little deeper when I get back to the office after Thanksgiving and hopefully I'll have more answers. Here is a picture I happen to have on my phone of the case. Good luck!

Jumping back in this thread! Any updates on different size cases? I own the Litemat plus 2 (square) and plus 4. Any suggestions for these obscure sizes would be great!
