List of Redusers Waiting for a Refund from Viewfactor

Piercing the corporate veil might be possible due to the reasons noted. That said, that type of legal work is highly likely to take longer and cost more as your burden of proof is much greater.

You're right, not it's "OK" for any vendor to hang out customers for 6 years. I'm just too pragmatic to hire lawyers unless I see deeper pockets than over at ViewFactor.

If you can find a firm willing to work on contingency alone, no retainer, I'll join the class action as long as someone else does all the legwork...

Is Viewfactor going to be at NAB? Why not go up to the booth as a group and ask for your refund. Would be quite a statement to have that many people band together in a civil "show of force." No one should have to deal with this!

They haven't been at NAB since '08, as far as I'm aware. There has been once or twice that their products have shown up on display at booths run by others. And yes, I have given some people a huge heaping helping of shit over that too.

Their products that they have actually released have been good. They did have a problem with off-brand LEMO connectors used for some of the control cables on a production run or two of the ORIGO controllers. Turns out that they were different than official LEMO connectors and hence when wired the same actually turned out to be improperly grounded or something to that effect. Fried a couple RED One cameras and they would never own up to that, either. They even admitted the mistake and that it was their fault, but left a handful of RED One owners to pay for the repairs with RED themselves. I have a few friends/ colleagues that were burned on that exchange. I know RED wasn't too happy over it either.

LOL @ Josh's group buy suggestion! Maybe I should take it to Kickstarter. Or... How about everyone send me $$$ so my lawyer and I can go kick their ass; then 6 years down the road, they'll still be in business and I'll have spent all the money on 12 different lawyers because I didn't like how they were going about it or they just didn't file the necessary paperwork the way I wanted them too. But I promise that some day, I'll kick their ass in court. Oh, the irony... it burns.

I find it incredibly telling that RED has no problem with Viewfactor on their site even though they've stiffed people tens of thousands of dollars. Meanwhile W00d3n Camera can't even be sent in a PM without converting it to haxor speak. :P

View Factor

View Factor

I am wondering if anyone knows if View Factor is still around. I sent in a Impero for repair and I can't seem to get them to respond to any form of communications. It has been several months now?

There site is still up. Not long ago I had to send in my V-Mount plate to get it replaced and got that squared away.

I would guess they are.
