UPDATE: I searched for other variations of the camera name and found more listings. There are 58 now instead of 29.

There are 58 films listed in the IMDb as being shot with a RED Scarlet-X. Here's the list in order of popularity.

There must be more than this. If you have shot or are shooting a film on Scarlet post it here!

Thanks for the list, i am always searching for scarlet footage.. thats a big help!

Ghostlight no imdb yet but post is almost done

Interesting list. All very independent movies. Lots of horror/thriller. Scarlet certainly opening the door for a lot of filmmakers.

Great thread Brandon.

Feature "One Less God" principal photography starting in February 2013 in Australia.

I think the flood gates are probably just opening too. When you look at where the new sony cams came out price wise and the cost of getting an FS700 to 4K (If when it's able) I think the Scarlet is a great choice for independents as it is easily the most affordable camera on the market for what it gives you. (Now the deal of the century R1 sale is over)

I'd imagine BMC, though it's taken a hit with it's shipping issues, will prove very popular... and who knows what's around the corner. But hopefully Scarlet Dragon will compete with those and then some anyway.

Why? These are properties that everyone here worked on? I'm not sure I understand. So many different tools were probably used on those projects.

agreed steven, very independent. I'm surprised that there are not more TV series or indies within the 2-6 million range. But I guess with epic being so cheap now you can easily justify one or two on a million dollar project.

Perceptions of customers...

Perceptions of customers...

I do not doubt that the Scarlet is a great option for an indie film wanting a 4K picture at 24fps...
But when you get up to 2-6 million, you have a production insurance policy, probably a completion bond, and more demanding investors.
They are all going to influence your camera source, and may insist on a rental house being the source of your gear.. as you get closer to $6mil, the crew contracts will be heavily against owner/operator deals and principal tool kit rentals..
Most rental houses went ahead and bought Epics.. so if that's where you are renting your camera, then you are not going to be offered a Scarlet body because it is not on the inventory shelf.
Also, that same rental house is going to keep the Epic body cost on the rental sheet as low as possible to get their lenses, monitors, tripods, etc on the rental..

Remember, at that level, it's show Business, not show fun....

Updated the list. There are 58 films now instead of 29.

Nice! My movie, OFF-TIME is on there. :)

Looks like you aren't on the main list because the technical credit is listed as "Red Scarlet Digital Cinema" and not "Red Scarlet X". I just did a search for "Red Scarlet" alone and found more films. I'll update the first post. The list just doubled in size...

Yeah Brandon, there are a variety of camera names for both Scarlet & Epic. I think we just picked the one that sounded the best. ;) Great list!

I own a Scarlet but I am new to the film industry. What are the requirements to get an IMDB listing? I have a couple of animator and actor friends who seem to use it to beat me over the head.

I do have a film credit as an animator but it was for a independent film out of Atlanta Georgia. There's no listing for it, Even though it was an over million dollar budget and a red carpet event in theaters Down south. I plan to do an independent animated film and would like a listing but it will be sometime before I do a live action. The only information I found so far is that it cost 50 something dollars... Which makes me think why do my friends brag so much about it? LOL. It's like if you don't have a listing you're nobody…

You can submit your unlisted films to the IMDB, but you really need to provide some sort of press coverage verifying the project is legit. Trade sources like Variety, Hollywood Reporter and Screen Daily are ideal. This is especially important if the film is in production.
