There was an article in "ICG Magazine" I believe about the DP Lisa Wigand's choice of the Varicam 3700 for the series. She felt that a handholdable 2/3" ENG-style camcorder was better-suited for the doc style of the show than a 35mm digital cinema camera. There is also this article from DV.Com:

Horizon, the first adult entertainment feature shot on EPIC comes out this Friday on Blu-Ray combo pack. It's a sci-fi post-alien invasion survival flick or something along those lines.

Thanks David! That was an interesting read.

I would also say that it is very rare - almost unheard of - for any show, especially television series, to be "100%" anything. Shows are constantly using things like Canon DSLRs, GoPros, and other small cameras to supplement their "A" camera and get coverage that is not easily gotten or economically practical to get using more expensive and physically larger devices. In fact, I can't recall the last time I worked on any show that was completely shot on one camera. Perhaps one or two episodes of "The Gates" last year, but other than that, I can't think of one.

Almost fell of my couch when I saw this on "Dinocroc vs Supergator" ;)
