Hi Guys

Wondering if this is a common problem?

Shot a short on Red Weapon Dragon 6K at 25fps. Turns out Premiere Pro reads the Prores as 25.03, which is causing problems when relinking r3d files in resolve, clips are out by frames now as reds are def 25 fps. (Just been sms'd by our grader so I'm not sure of the finer details).

Also Resolve was constantly crashing for 4 days on this project on my system, thought it was because I didn't have a full blown Company 3 style rig set up. Dropped the HD off to a professional grading house today, however once they relinked prores to r3d, same problem, resolved crashed. After an afternoon dedicated to trouble shooting, he deleted (removed) all prores files sitting amongst the r3d files and wallah, no crashes in resolve. Thought it was odd given they are different formats, but can't deny the fact that it worked.

Has anyone else had these problems, or is there a black cloud that follows me every where. I think it's a cloud. Stupid cloud.

From what I know there is a problem with the Red ProRes in premiere and Resolve. As for the framerate I've never encountered it reading ProRes as 25.03. Every project I do is in 25fps mode and I've never seen this?

The reason Resolve crash like that seems very likely due to ProRes having the same metadata. Never mix Proxies and RAW in the same folder structure, it's a recipe for disaster.

Well.. that's probably the reason I really feel like punching Premiere in the face the last couple of days with the constant program crashes.
I'm gonna re-structure my raw/proxies folders right away!

Thanks for the clarification Sir :)

Then Red have created a recipe for disaster themselves. Looks like every single shoot on Red will need some gardening and weed those little suckers out from every single take/folder.

I thought the latest update from red remedied this for premiere no? Haven't tested myself yet...

Hi Kacey --

Do you know which camera firmware version was used to record the footage?
