  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Lin to log?

Not sure how to set RedCine on this "inclusive" vs "exclusive" option on EDL import

copy grade (REdLog) from one clip to all in an EDL import does not seem to work other then one clip at a time....any way to paste ALL with RedCine x?

using the "look presets" cool got that one...but a new question...does RCX make NEW folders for EACH clip export? it seems it should but I have not found a way to make it do this...right now it's just spitting dpx files into one folder in a row...I need each clip in it's one folder with it's original name...tips?

Has anyone tested RCX Pro though to test this theory of it being a "perfect cineon". I tried it again today. I had the *exact same* settings and when I output DPX and I output EXR and load them into nuke I get two completely different images. It's entirely possible though that I'm doing something wrong.

The EXRs are matching RCXPro but the DPXes are coming in about 2x too bright.

Gavin...strange, i got identical picture. a bit of difference in terms of white balance. It works as soon as you load it. Exporting EXR will discard any gamma space you set, it will automatically set to Half Float Linear as soon as you pick EXR as output. I found RLF is cool and EXR is more warm.

Try to check. Turn off the sRGB LUT viewer. Check your read node

1. DPX - should set to Cineon Curve
2. EXR - should be default to linear.

Now try to view both of this picture, is it identical ? It should be highly contrast linear light picture. If not, something is not right somewhere. Luma information should be 100% the same.

the result of EXR picture is half float linear - linear light images - you shouldnt be able to match is RC-X Pro because there is no access to that. Unless you are using Nuke to load the R3D.

RLF DPX will be looking flat and should match RC-X Pro
