Hey, just thought I'd share this cool little fashion piece I shot a few years back.

Shot on Epic Dragon with LLO and Canon L Series lenses. Still one of the best looking RED cameras, I think.

We had pretty limited lighting, but a great location, so I really tried to use every bit of that to our advantage.

Approved! I love the 1920s/30s concept, as well as the location. The last shot is perfect, and the first is perfectly lit. I love the quality of the subdued tones at 0:09.

If I had to add a critique (which is basically just me thinking aloud from my armchair), I'd say that a few quick cutaways here and there would have been a good idea. I also notice that sometimes, an ad will have cuts within the same shot, i.e. removing a few frames here and there, to give a quicker rhythm to the visuals. Maybe ideally you could have done either a film-out or a full 5219 LUT, but that sort of thing is probably too much refinement for the budget. I also would have liked to have seen a little bit more camera movement in some shots. The first shot could have had a gently tracking camera, or more intrashot cuts.

The only shot that didn't work for me was the one at 0:24. I just didn't like the carpet (IRL I'd love it though), and I could not help but notice the bits of dirt on the floor.

Really beautiful Harrison. You managed to make that produce a better look with that camera than most of the tv shows/films that have employed it.

Harrison, this is amazing. The Epic Dragon is still in my top 5 best cameras on the planet.

Thanks, guys. Really appreciate it. I think the talent and location made my job pretty easy.

Karim, I did consider using a film emulation, but I think they can look a little cheesy unless they're very carefully integrated.
