Disney does things BIG and this ones no exception. Detroit is going HUGE with this one.

Then on the flip size in another part of the world.

Peter Jacksons the Hobbit An Unexpected Journey / There and Back Again.
Mr. Jacksons the guy who won like 20 Oscar awards and then some.

I know there are tons of other great movies being shot 3D with the EPIC.

But what The Wizzard is doing and Sir Peter.
WOAH.

OZ is a big deal here in Michigan. By far the largest film that has ever shot here. Disney has completely taken over the brand-new Raleigh Studios Detroit facility, with seven stages totaling 155,000 sq. ft. in rotating use as their sets are completed. They had to bring in additional HVAC and power to handle some of the massive requirements of OZ. I've got some friends that are working on rigging and G&E for OZ...they are mighty busy guys!

Is this being shot on Epic? The thread title is a little ambiguous.

Yes, OZ is being shot on Epic, as Jarred told us in this thread. Sam Raimi's contract insisted that OZ shoot here. He is a Michigan film industry hometown hero, who grew up in Birmingham, MI.
