I have a short film that I am shooting that involves scenes of a character alone in the desert that takes place just on the cusp of darkness. I intend to put a little fill light on him as he moves about and am hoping someone can recommend a lighting setup that can be handheld and battery powered. I prefer the look of fluorescent lighting but would def consider LED. Thanks!

F&V LED panels are pretty cheap, have decent output and can be battery powered. They have a CRI rating of only 85, though I haven't experienced much color shifting. You can get a 3-light kit with case for like $1k.

their lights are awesome....very high CRI, single light source look, extremely compact and light, very high output....and still battery powered....i have several of their P360s...the new version is even more powerful and the PQ? fresnel adapter is amazing....great system, accessories are well made and very inexpensive...i am not affiliated, just a really happy customer....
