Lights Out for Mother Earth

[ChrisLyon]

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had heard about this. If you had, is anyone planning on catching the "lights out" in their city?

That'd be cool if shot from a satellite.

I dunno about my local authorities. If it's an individual thing, I'd participate, but it wouldn't make much sense.

I totally support this kind of efforts.

My self, for what little I can do, I'm building my production company from the ground up, with a friendly Eco-system in mind.

Granted LED lights are not as yet at par with strong HMI's but they can sure replace many Tungstens and small HMI's, also Kinos.

It is a costly proposition at first as you need more of them and they are not cheap, but they do pay them self off rater quickly, they consume less 90% less energy, they run cool and they last about 40 years or so, avoiding the discarding of burned out globes, so at the end great solution and doing good for our delicate Eco-system.

So my compliments and respect to those trying hard to make a stand in such a critically vital matter.

Thanks for posting!

I support this effort as well but I guess the west coast peeps should do it a few hours before this because otherwise it will not be much of an issue due to the fact it will be kind of late and many people would have lights their lights out anyway.
