Looking to buy or rent a 4x4ft light tent or one of those product soft boxes for quick beauty shots of products for a commercial.
Set it up. Throw up a light or two make the product very soft on a seamless white backdrop and shoot.... But, have the item spin.

The item looks something like this:

The problem is, this is for video. I would like to see the products rotate in a circle.
Is there a product with a base that rotates?
Or maybe I can make one myself, but how do I not see the edges when I want it to be seamless?

*I have until Monday. Yup. Monday. Ugh.

I wouldn't try this on a video shoot. What material is your product?
On one shoot, Its beauty supplies. I dont knoe exactly, but I'm assuming its all bottles, (glass, plastic) creams, etc.
The other shoot a few days later will be glasses.

Ive seen it on tv many many times. Its one of the main ways to reveal the product. For example: the cover girl commercial. The products are on a surface and spun around revealing it 360'.
If its not possible though, the best I can do is dolly in/out, or maybe sideways if any of it is possible.

I'm actually going to home depot to take a look at that stuff you mentioned.
But, will it seamlessly blend in with the background?

You could easily frame out the base or paint it out. If it's bright white it will be pretty simple, maybe just a garbage matte. In a lot of adds like this you don't see the base. I'd find a way to rotate it smoothly, though.

Use a turntable. You can get the motor replaced cheap for one with more torque. I picked one up new for 60 bucks. Then use a vari Ac large dimmer, not a household one. The dimmer can regulate the voltage to the motor
to adjust speed to male it slower. Shoot at a higher frame rate and shutter speed.

the best solution which i use is a motor with a center pin that attaches to a round white wood table from Ikea. The base of the motor is attached to a mitchell plate so it can mount on baker sticks.

If you have a motorized slider, you could also use that motor, gear and control to get pretty good control over the spin. Kessler's cinedrive would work fine here.
