So I wanted to offer the following tips and tricks to making your light meter even easier to use. All of the details are posted on my blog at the link below. Hopefully you will find these as useful as I have.

Tips & Tricks:
1. Reprograming buttons on the Sekonic L-758c
2. Easy Contrast Ratios
3. Determining the contrast range (no math needed.)
4. Finding the Mid tone
5. ETTR with your meter

Your web site is almost impossible to read. Very faint grey text on a black background is useless. Espically to us older types without 20/20 vision.

If you have trouble reading it, selecting over the text is a quick fix, changing the text to black and the background to light grey. Alternatively, you can force the site to display in a font and colour contrast that works for you by making a quick change in the content tab of your browser's options panel. (That explanation's not meant to be facetious, I just thought I'd give a suggestion in case someone didn't already think of it.) Personally, I find the site much easier on the eyes than black on white, but maybe it's 'cause I'm a whippersnapper.

Anyways... Nice explanation, thanks for the link.

Thanks for the input- I'll see if I can't lighten it some. I do not want to go to far the other direction as I like the look / feel of the layout. But I am younger (29).

LOL! Thanks. :)

Ryan: thanks for this! Have you tried calibrating the sekonic for the Red sensor yet?

offtopic note: if you use Firefox or Opera, you can easily apply user stylesheets to override color choices to your preferred ones. Opera comes out of the box with settings for white on black and black on white and for users who need larger print.
