About what would be lifetime expectancy of Li Ion Batteries?
And is it's lifetime variable upon how much the battery was/is used.
Or is it more an issue of time sensitivity and how many years old the battery is ?
Saw this post at B&H

The Dionic 160s are Illegal to bring onto a commercial plane.
[@]Final Note they only last about three years max
so don't buy more than you can use on a consistant basis.

Does this ring true to people..? Does this mean even if you never
used the batteries they would not fully charge after 3 years time passed.

Ignore that guy. You can bring them on, they just have to be attached to things like a camera (unless stuff has changed in the last year.)

While storage is a concern, after 3 years, they should be fine with just a little use. I have some that are 5+ years with hundreds of cycles that still hold almost a full charge as they were brand new...and some that hold about 60% of a full charge.

I am still using my original red batts from my red one, they were bought in 2008 with constant use until epic, now less frequently but 3 of the 4 are still strong

I will say though that my ab dionics went in about three years

I have used many brands of Li batteries over the years and say that most are great. I did have some Anton Bauer batteries that were fairly fragile so swapped over to V Locks of lots of other brands. I never have any issues now. I Probably get a couple of thousand cycles out of each battery no problem. Currently I have Red bricks, Swit and Chinese low cost batts.
