  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Life After ProRes?

Bitjazz. Sheervideo. Someone should look seriously at this technology. It's probably one of the best codecs around and it has the best colorspace conversion between rgb and Yuv.

Used in a lot of high end professional applications. Prores was probably a rip off of this very fine codec.

David.

Hahaha!

No - ProRes was a rip-off of DNxHD.

Sept 2004 - Avid releases DNxHD
March 2005 - Avid releases DNxHD source code
April 2007 - Apple releases ProRes, with *very* similar compression techniques and nearly-identical datarates to DNxHD
