Are Lexar 8gb 300x cards good for 4k RC36? are there any limitations in comparison with red cards?

Audio Fault

Audio Fault

It dosent matter what kind of 4K I record on my lexars..."audio fault" is displayed after a few seconds of rec.

What Build are you on Jens, and can you send us the camera LOG file ?

Jens, do you get the audio fault error even if you have audio recording turned off? I haven't seen that with mine, but I rarely record audio to the camera. I will be doing a lot more audio to camera once I get the audio board swapped and we have proper phantom power.

I've always had problems with Lexar 8GB cards... Well, off and on. I bought some, had lots of dropped frames on a couple cards after using them for about a week, yet some other cards worked fine, got a few cards replaced. All seemed good for a while, but occasionally get dropped frames, sometimes real bad, sometimes not at all. It does seem to be worse as the cards get filled up. This is with 4K RC28 @ 16:9 or 4K RC36 @ 2:1. All 3K and 2K modes seem to work just fine, even 2K overcranked.

Anyway, I stick to my RED cards now, and mostly the RED Drives 80% of the time, unless I'm just goofing around or taking a quick shot here or there that shouldn't be affected. I'm anxiously awaiting the 16GB cards and RED RAM. ...Expensive, yes, but if it works 100% of the time, it's gold. RED 8GB CF cards have been 100% fool-proof for me, never dropped a frame.
