Lexar 16gb CF 300X

A dealer here in the UK tells me the lexar 16gb 300X cards are due for release. Can someone tell me if they are the same as the 16gb RED cards, I already use some 8gb lexar cards along side my 8gb RED cards and they work perfectly.

According to Red, they have not been able to find fast enough 16GB cards, so their cards are specialy made for them.

RED has said the RED 16GB cards are considerably faster than the 8GB, which would translate into considerably faster than 300x. But if they are as fast as the 8GB and they work with the RED One than depending on the price it could still be a nice option.

IIRC, one of the RED team members said the RED 16GB cards are about a 550X equivalent.

The 16GB LEXAR UDMA 300X cards have been a long-time coming. They may work, but will still be slower than the RED 16GB cards.

Don't forget, you get a free upgrade to the faster CF module when you buy a RED 16Gig card, if I am not mistaken.

i do have 16gb RED cards on order, but if the lexars were an alternative i could obtain them at short notice from the UK and use them alongside my RED cards, i am in the UK and keep getting hammered on duty inch: I think i will buy one of the lexars and give it a try, will have delivery dates for them tomorrow.
