  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

LEVO

This looks pretty rad I must admit. However I've noticed most of the time something bad has happened to my (or friends) DSLR's is when the strap is attached. Someone walks by, snags the strap, camera goes flying...etc.

I'll probably resist the urge as I have no desire to see a Scarlet or Epic hit the ground. ;-)

One of my favorite quotes, though I completely forget who said it: "When a Red hits the ground, the ground breaks."

Course, that doesn't mean I'm going to throw my Scarlet down, or do anything that makes it more likely to break the ground . . .

If you're not using our strap on a car rig or other place up high then your RED will surely hit the ground :-)

Excellent! The LEVO just arrived and after putting it on the camera it's exactly what I was wanting. This IS the strap for anyone wanting one. Tough as nails, great design and like everything else from VF, extremely well-made. I now have a DLR!

Thanks guys!

Mark,

Glad you love it. We went through enough prototypes :)

One thing though,
you do need a top plate and/or sidearms to mount the brackets to.

Yes, a must. Drilling into the side of the brain should probably be avoided. :wink5:

I will say that this thing is much more than a strap, it's really the first official type of web-sling-thing that allows for all sorts of curious activities when schlepping a RED. It is no lightweight little strap, but a beast, worthy of consideration for inclusion in one's kit. I'm surprised by how front-heavy the camera is, even with the quad battery module attached to the back. You'd think it would roll vertical, lens up, but no. Must be because they finally switched on the gyro.

Mine came this week, and I think that when I do my next travel job I'm going to love it! Wish I had this a while back when I had to shoot on horseback...

hehe really? :-)
I do not have a top plate nor sidearms on my Epic. So I was looking for a way to connect the strap to the camera.
So I just came up with the following idea;
I do have a 15mm wooden camera top mount. using a 9"15mm rod and slide one end of the strap on the front and the other end from the back onto the rod.
then using 2 zacuto zmounts to prevent the strap from sliding of.
This works for now until I found a better solution.

I really love the strap, great quality!

We are working on more mountings. Takes time.

Got mine and love it,
Thank to Team VF.

Very solid build and serious-N-smart locking system, Recommend to all.
Jus' 1 thing is missing, wish that I can quickly glides camera up/ down to shooting position without moving shoulder pad (Like Blackrapid RS series). John/ Joshua... you hear me? (lol)
