First, there is a lot of text, I'm sorry. Lots of accessories included and some weird custom stuff that I felt the need to explain.
Selling my Magnesium Letus Helix, I've had it for about a year and a half. This model has the newer smaller motors than the Helix pictured on their site (which still appears to be the original 1st gen aluminum version). If you're someone who rigs a lot of stuff, this gimbal is super versatile.
The Magnesium powder coat started flaking in some spots pretty early on, but it didn't effect anything so I just left it. The bottom is nicely worn, but again doesn't effect the performance. Trust me, setting down a gimbal on any flat surface is an incredible feature of this thing.
This has the 4th Axis, which I currently have their Devitte plate mounted to (quick release plate for their Touch N Go system, which this sale includes a baseplate for) but there is also a handle (accessory photo) that can be swapped out on the 4th Axis. This allows you to hang the gimbal from an Easy Rig. If you don't use the handle or the plate, there is a hole that you can get Steadicam pin adapters for, like I said earlier, lots of options.
The Helix can also be broken down to the 1-Axis configuration, cool for an auto-horizon on a Steadicam or monopod. I once tested it out on my Zacuto VCT plate as a shoulder-rig auto-horizon. Kind of a cool concept.
It also has a power-distro (2-pin Lemo, US wiring) where you mount the camera, so you can power accessories from the main power input (check out the extra cables in the accessory picture).
Accessories: (Left to right, top row first)
3D printed SWIT battery holder (see pic below, notches hold Swit battery in place, use velcro strap through the vertical slits)
Devitte quick release plate (for mounting on motor handle of 3-Axis Helix, for hanging mode or tripod head mode)
Touch N Go (devitte quick release base)
Long Touch N Go plate (can allow you to extend the Helix 1st Axis back farther)
4th Axis handle
Belt holder for V-Mount battery plate
D-Tap to 2-Pin Lemo power (for Swit battery)
2-pin to 2-pin (used to power my RedRock Micro wireless FF, US power wiring)
D-tap LONG Lemo power (for use with belt pack)
2-pin Lemo to Female D-Tap
2-pin Lemo to FS7 DC plug
Custom (from Letus) 1st Axis Extension cable
EDIT: Forgot I had an RC remote for it. A Spektrum DX6i.
I've used various cameras on this, the Epic Dragon, Weapon, Sony FS7 and A7S. When the rig starts getting a bit heavier (and they do with the Sony FS7, it's such a long camera) you REALLY need to nail the balance to get good results. On smaller cameras like the A7S, the motors can overpower a slight imbalance so you don't have to be spot-on.
This is one heads up I want to give to a prospective buyer: The Helix requires some manual skill with the PID adjustments, but they have a bunch of presets you can try out that might work well for you. There is no "auto tune mode" right now, as far as I know. There is an iOS app and this Helix has Wifi and Bluetooth, so you can load up the app and use it to tune the motors and load their presets.
Includes hardshell case (Pelican 1600, honestly pretty damn small and light compared to monstrous cases like the Ronin). I think they re-designed the Helix a little (and motors) after this case was made, it doesn't fit the 4th Axis installed on the Helix like it looks like it is meant to. Not quite sure why! Maybe cutting the foam a bit to modify it would work.
The retail price of all of this stuff is over $5700 (including the current sale they are doing right now on the Mg Helix), I'm looking to get $3400, shipped free in the upper 48. Let me know if you have any questions!
