  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Letus Gimbal

I have seen other gimbals that have gps compensation. The Lexus does not have this correct? What do we lose by not having it?

The LEXUS... nice... ;)

What model of LEXUS did you mean? They all have gps nowadays I thought, LOL. Kidding aside, gps is more for flying, we are not.

What we know so far is that the 3 axis setup will be a bit less than $4K. And, the 4th axis add-on will come in around $900.

The REDuser group buy is closed and, according to their web site, the first batch to the public is also allocated. Exciting times around here.

The Lull before the Storm?

The Lull before the Storm?

It has been all too quiet on this thread lately! We need to get some information about the joystick and other ways of controlling this beast.

Some info on the controller Letus is using here : http://www.basecamelectronics.com/simplebgc32bit/

Of particular interest is the bluetooth module, the optional second IMU , as well as the Control through the Serial-protocol using dedicated API.
Not sure is Letus is doing any deal with Aleksey ( the author of the system ) to do any special mods for the Letus product. If so will that leave us out of further software updates for the mainstream Basecam controller ?

2 Battery options. I may release the 5400mAh first and then 2700 later for lower profile. It will use same case, but will need to change the 4 posts at the corners.

We will include the second IMU. As for bluetooth, It is optional, but must be chosen at the time of order, otherwise, the unit must be sent back for installation. Soldering and firmware manipulation are done for it to work.

We are going with the stock firmware so that you all can have the latest and greatest firmware as it become available. However, we have 2 software engineers working on the PC software and smartphone software so we can simplify the process for all of you.

Battery Solution = YES!! Bravo & thanks for listening! Awesome renders by the way

Are you guys still planning on showing us the test footage and doing the private chat to give us the secret insight? ;)

You guys have shoved me into the closet to get all these done :-) LOL. All these are coming really soon. It's not a Letus thing to delay release day (a gimmick played by manufacturers to get customers waiting for their products even when they cannot deliver). We are trying best not to miss it by much even with all the additional stuff.

Great update!

I always configured my alexmos / basecam boards with bluetooth it is a huge +. And works flawlessly on OSX to.
(So for everyone.. order it WITH it!)

Hien, you and your team are so freaking awesome! I love the new renders and battery options. I'm sure I'll get the onboard for flexibility, even though I'm likely to stay with a V-mount on belt clip most of the time. Looks like you may have added more ruler print on the plates . . . always welcome for precision adjustments. This thing is going to be MONUMENTALLY cool!

Liz, cool that you spot that ruler print. Yes, we make it so later on, you can take a snapshot with the phone and reset it to wherever it was, for the case of packing.
