  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

LETS TALK ABOUT WHITE BALANCE AND RED

White Balance

White Balance

I do often find that the white balance picker in RCX will improve the perceived accuracy in representing the original scene - it will look better - than what I set on camera using the 2 axes.

I suspect that what's happening there is a difference in the sample boxes used by the camera and REDCINE-X.

On the camera the WB sample are is the central 25% of the field of view. On RC-X its a small window that you place on the object of most interest. That can lead to different answers for the KELVIN and TINT obviously.

Interesting idea- how do you have it attached to the slate? That seems like a great solution.

It has a 3/8 hole at the bottom. I bolted a small aluminum latch with two wood screws to the lower part of the clapper and used a 3/8" wingnut bolt to attach the cube. Comes of toolless for transportation.
